PRACTICE AREAS -- MEDIATION and ARBITRATION
Mark R. Osherow is a Florida Qualified Arbitrator and Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator. He is available to conduct mediations and arbitrations in various areas of practice.
On December 1, 2006, Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, shareholder Mark R. Osherow announced that he was certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida, having completed the 40 hours of required training and post training mentoring. "it was somewhat of a grueling process to become certified, together with running a busy litigation practice, but well worth the effort. I expect the interactive learning process to give me added insight to effectively negotiate for our clients, Osherow reflected. Mr. Osherow is available to mediate personal injury, insurance, business litigation, real estate, and other matters, but intends to focus primarily in employment litigation. he intends to focus on seeking to mediate matters involving discrimination under state and federal law, wage and hour (FLSA) matters, and cases involving allegations of violations of restrictive covenants not to compete, theft of trade secrets and unfair competition. Mr. Osherow believes his background will be helpful in the mediation of these matters. Mr. Osherow stated "based upon my experience, these particular areas tend to require particular specialized knowledge in many instances, and while there are some very good mediators in these areas, I have found that there seems to be a need for additional mediators particularly knowledgeable in these areas of law. I hope, at least on occasion, to be able to help fill that perceived void."
